Dance on Broadway, The Intelligent Alternative

DANCE ON BROADWAY provides quality dance training for children 3 years and up. Our approach to children's dance develops self discipline, self respect and confidence fostering creativity and appreciation for dance and music.

Our objective is to see your children spending their dancing year in a process of continuous growth and learning, focusing on education rather than preparation .The importance of play and it's role in emphasizing dance technique, coordination and free expression is a central theme in our classes.

We offer professional training that does not assume professional aspirations although graduate training is on offer. Class teaching support is given in the form of graduate students offering a greater student-teacher interaction. We also have a dance buddies system whereby one or two children from each class give peer support.

At the end of the spring term, in lieu of the traditional high pressure dance extravaganza, our students enjoy a more informal performance highlighting classroom progress and achievements as well as the opportunity to dress up and have fun. We are affiliated with The International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) and children are entered into their exam system in the summer term. The younger children take rosette awards and the older children take stardance and medal awards.

Older children are given the opportunity to perform in local festivals such as Lewisham Peoples Day and the Quaggy Arts festival during the summer term.
